The Physiological and Molecular Responses of Populus Species to Cadmium and Sustainable forest management in China

Vabljeni na predavanji z naslovoma: The Physiological and Molecular Responses of Populus Species to Cadmium in Sustainable forest management in China, ki bosta v petek, 12.4.2019 ob 10.00 v veliki dvorani na Gozdarskem inštitutut Slovenije.

Povzetek predavanja The Physiological and Molecular Responses of Populus Species to Cadmium:

In China, soil in some regions is seriously contaminated by cadmium (Cd) which is a toxic and non-essential element for most organisms. Phytoremediation is an effective and environment friendly approach to reduce Cd pollution in soil. Populus species are fast growing woody plants and ideal candidates for phytoremediation of Cd-contaminated soil. In this talk, the selection of proper poplar genotypes for remediating Cd-contaminated soil, the physiological and molecular mechanisms will be presented of selected poplar genotype in response to Cd accumulation.

Povzetek predavanja Sustainable forest management in China:

The presentation on “Sustainable Forest Management in China” will briefly introduce the International initiatives on Criteria and Indicators for sustainable forest management, especially in most European countries and China. The significance of using C&I framework to report national progress toward sustainable forest management will also be discussed.
